The courage to do IT anyways

I am a work in progress, not by any means a expert on the topic of courage. Just someone that is learning moment to moment with the intention of living to my fullest potential and a significant part of that is accepting that fear comes along with the territory. It seems like almost everyday I’m faced with doing something that scares me.

Fear is there when we desire to step out and do something different than much of the rest of the  mainstream world. At the beginning of my business owning path, I would literally lie awake reviewing endless imagined scenarios of how others would respond to my deep down desire to build a significant multi level marketing business, to be the start of a massive ripple effect of hope and inspiration. I mean really who was I to take that on?  I felt that magical and undeniable blend of intensely distracting fear AND pure excitement. Well at this point, you know which direction I ultimately chose to explore and to sum it up one of my favorite quotes by Anais Nin, “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

So, I did chose to flex my courage muscle, opened my mouth and moved forward.  I knew that staying in a state of fear, I would miss out on so much freedom and FREEDOM is a major core value for me. It was time to feel the fear and do “it” anyways.

” It takes bold action to turn our dreams into reality”  Meredith Rom

Good news, if you’re goal is to own a business like mine, there are specific actions to take and a proven formula that yields results. Like a recipe. After all, I was really the only variable in my success. Moving from a state of fear to a state of empowerment does take a strong, unwavering desire.

And we are all afraid on unfamiliar territory, no matter what the venture. The only way to get rid of that fear and replace it with an exhilarating rush of self pride is to go out and be courageous. Step into the arena and show up  (even if you really want to run away). That is where we experience true empowerment instead of being ok as a victim to fear. I’ve been told before by a wise teacher, that when you feel both a sense of fear and a spark of excitement that is EXACTLY the direction you should be going. That along with your intuition is your roadmap for the journey ahead.

The book that helped me gain a ton of perspective on vulnerability and courage is the popular (for good reason)”Daring Greatly” by Brene Brown.  I love her quote “Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness.” or “You can choose courage or you can choose comfort, but you cannot have both”

There are specific people right now that need your help and are looking, praying for exactly what you have to offer. When we show up to serve others first, getting our message out is a lot less scary.  We increase the collective consciousness of courage, give others permission to do the same and be fully present in the world-that is our work. Accept that facing fear is an essential part of living to the expression of our highest self and keep moving.  Our courage in action creates inspiration for both ourselves and others. Set your hearts desire on fire and don’t hold back for a second be willing to transform and inspire!

With heart,
